STEP 1

Check Eligibility

Meet basic requirements (age ≤55, health, clean criminal record). Score at least 6 points under the new system (via qualifications, work experience, salary, etc.).

STEP 2

6-Point Calculation

Points Criteria (English) NZ professional registration 1-3ponits Degree (Bachelor/Master/PhD) 3-6points High salary (1.5x median wage) Skilled work experience in NZ 1-3points

STEP 3

Submit Expression of Interest (EOI)

Submit an EOI online with details like qualifications, points claimed, and job offer (if any).

STEP 4

Receive Invitation to Apply (ITA)

NZ Immigration selects high-scoring EOIs and issues ITAs (usually within 6 months). After ITA, you have 4 months to lodge a full application.

STEP 5

Lodge Residence Application

Required documents: Passport, police clearance Qualification assessment (NZQA for overseas degrees) Employment evidence (reference letters, payslips) English test (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent)

STEP 6

Approval & Visa Grant

Processing time: 3-6 months. Successful applicants receive a Residence Visa, valid for 12 months for first entry.
