STEP 1
Determine Eligibility
Register a Private Limited Company in Singapore /Hold at least 30% shareholding in the company/ Demonstrate a viable business plan with sustainable operations/ Pay yourself a minimum salary of SGD 5,000/month (higher for certain industries). Hire at least 1 local employee (Singaporean/PR) and contribute to CPF
STEP 2
Prepare Documents
Company registration documents (ACRA BizFile)/ Business plan (financial projections, market analysis). Proof of investment (bank statements, capital injection). Applicant’s resume, educational certificates, and work experience/ Lease agreement for office/workspace (if applicable)
STEP 3
Apply for Self-Employment Pass (SEP)
Submit online via the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) website
STEP 4
After Approval
Receive an In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter/ Complete formalities (e.g., medical checkup, sign employment contract)/ Collect the SEP card at MOM
STEP 5
Renewal & PR Pathway
Renew SEP annually (must show active business operations)/ After 2-3 years, eligible to apply for Permanent Residence (PR) under the Entrepreneur/Investor scheme
